One small step towards the right direction but..to trip it up is just as easy.

In a landmark ruling, the High Court has ruled that the Attorney-General of Malaysia, who holds public office, cannot escape suits when they involve allegations of power abuse.

“I am afraid that the notion of absolute immunity for a public servant, even when mala fide or abuse of power in the exercise of their prosecutorial power is alleged, is anathema to modern day notions of accountability,” judicial commissioner Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera said today.

He made the remark in dismissing Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail’s (pic) attempt to strike out suits citing him for abuse of power and misconduct.

Yes ! one ruling that is going along the right track . No-one who holds public office especially more so ,those with high profile public office can be invincible..or protected!
That is the message here !
Abuse of power or mala fide in any form ,if proven will subject the perp to correllating punishment , whether they are from the executive , legislative or judiciary branches of Goverment.
Accountability is of the utmost priority if public confidence towards any of the institutions of goverment is to be restored..
Makes no difference whether you are prosecutor, judge to a minister or elected MP or civil servant.
No matter who you are , or how high up or influential you have risen, if it can be proven that ” You did the crime , You have to payback with the Time.”
That’s called “justice and perhaps a small restoration of Hope” to people living in an ailing nation, that has a segment of the “eilte ” determined to poison all ,stubbornly refusing to heal itself , forcing all to swallow their poison .
